Layers of rock, grass and sky make up the Flint Hills of Kansas, the largest remaining tract of Tallgrass Prairie in North America. It is a magical place, beautiful in any season, and rich in resources and history.

Original design inspired by my own photos and drawings.

Entirely machine pieced using quarter inch straight seams, no raw edges, no applique. Free motion hand guided machine quilting.

Commercially printed and hand dyed fabrics chosen to portray the colors and textures of the area. Many different threads for the quilting to enhance those fabrics.
