Tranquil Dawn (2016) 
40 X 52.5" We live near a nesting colony of Great Blue Herons, so we see them often. This scene, worked from my original sketch, depicts one hunting for his breakfast. This is machine pieced using straight seams; there is no applique, even the eye is pieced! The extensive free motion machine quilting is done on my home sewing machine with no stitch regulator.
